Northern Ireland National Team Coach
Austin MacPhee’s coaching career took a further step forward in December 2016, becoming the assistant manager at Heart of Midlothian FC in the Scottish Premiership. He also ties this together with his position as assistant coach of the Northern Ireland National Team where he played a pivotal role in the Nations qualification and subsequent progression to the finals of Euro 2016 in France.
Austin's other passion is AMsoccer Club, a football club which he founded in 2006 and is widely recognized as Scotland's best, having graduated 18 pro players, five in the National Programme and three invited on trial with FC Barcelona. The club has seen a number of players graduate to senior professionals and also four players gain a soccer scholarship in the USA.
The Club has now achieved "Legacy" status with the Scottish Football Association. Austin's professional playing career took him from Scotland to USA, Romania and Japan. He is a UEFA "A" License coach, holds a degree in Psychology and English from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and speaks Japanese having studied at Meijo University during his time in Japan as a footballer.
